About Chef Mont

 Born in Columbus, Ohio, Chef Mont learned the meaning of community at an early age often spending days and sometimes nights in his grandmother's kitchen in Steubenville, Ohio. There was always food either on the table or on the stove and that's usually where everyone congregated. Even in he wasn't in the kitchen, Chef Mont was always close by, which gave him a chance to catch a glimpse of a secret recipe or just to hear the laughter that came from all of the seated at the table. In addition to his grandmother, his parents also cooked so there was always an opportunity for him to learn something in the kitchen. He grew up being his mother's guinea pig as she tried out new recipes and tried to recreate some of his grandmother's favorites. As his father climbed the corporate ladder, Chef Mont moved from state to state during his formative years and was exposed to different people, places and things that served to reinforce the importance of community and the discourse, heightened awareness and sincere joy that could be created from within these experiences. It was during his high school years in Atlanta, Georgia that Chef Mont began to truly discover his thirst for flavorful food, and a desire to understand how food, beverage, and hospitality could impact community and create memorable experiences.   During college, Chef Mont's curiosity about all things food and beverage began to become a passion, working in kitchens while he attended Auburn and then Clemson universities. After college, this passion stayed in the background while Chef Mont followed other  He began hospitality management in Washington, DC, and after more than 20 years in contemporary casual and fine dining, Chef Mont went through a two-year incubation in Georgia to create the most desirable and delicious dining experience...
